Ahmed Al Abri has over 15 years of experience in dispute resolution, with a practice spanning a range of regulated sectors, particularly telecommunications, insurance, tax and integrated tourism complexes (ITCs) in the Sultanate of Oman.

Ahmed represents telecommunications companies in disputes arising from commercial arrangements, operational matters and sector-specific regulatory frameworks. He advises on dispute strategy and represents clients before the Omani courts in matters involving telecommunications services and related commercial relationships.

In the insurance sector, Ahmed acts for insurers in coverage and liability disputes arising from insurance policies and claims. His experience includes complex matters involving vessel casualties and marine insurance, as well as insurance claims arising from major infrastructure projects.

Ahmed also advises on tax disputes and represents companies before the Oman Tax Authority and the Omani courts in relation to tax assessments and related challenges.

In the real estate sector, Ahmed advises developers, property managers and owners operating within integrated tourism complexes in Oman. His experience covers disputes relating to property sales, leases and service charges, as well as advice on the regulatory framework governing ITCs and the drafting and review of sale and purchase agreements (SPAs) and related property documentation.

Ahmed also serves as the firm's Compliance Officer.

Experience

• Representing a multinational engineering and construction company in a construction claim against the contractor and the designer to hold them responsible for the faults that appeared in the wastewater station that belongs to Salalah Sanitary Drainage Services in Dhofar Governorate.
• Representing a prominent family group company in a dispute against the Tax Authority on the deduction of dividend distributions in other companies in which the company contributes from the tax assessment.
• Representing an Omani bank with respect to a dispute against the Tax Authority to cancel the tax assessment decision and considering the amounts of general provisions for loan losses as costs to be deducted from the total income.
• Advising and representing an ITC developer in court proceedings relating to debt recovery, service charge non-payments, and handling commercial and labour disputes, including termination and unfair dismissal cases, as well as tenancy disputes.
• Representing an insurance company in a dispute related to a trade credit policy issued for a fruit supply contract. The insured supplier sought to recover over USD 471,000 after the Omani buyer failed to pay. The case addressed the insurer's potential liability and the validity of the underlying contract.
